18/5/2012 - Stockbridge Parking Project Is Launched

Stockbridge Parish council are pleased to announce the launch of the Stockbridge Parking Project.

Working in conjunction with Test Valley Borough council, Hampshire County Council, schools and traders we aim to determine the solutions to the parking issues we are facing in Stockbridge.

A very well attended public meeting was held in the Town Hall where the issues facing Stockbridge, the plan of action and practicalities of dealing with the problems were outlined.

Over the next week (commencing 18th May) your residents' representatives will be seeking your views and opinions on the issues and how they can be resolved.  We would welcome your input.

You can access the report which outlines the issues by clicking here.

Details of your residents representatives can be found by clicking here.

Progress reports can be found by clicking here.

9/3/12 - The John O'Gaunt grand re-opening on Friday 13th April

We are pleased to inform you that the John O'Gaunt will be having its grand re-opening on Friday 13th April.

In a time when so many local pubs are closing it is really encouraging to hear of a pub being saved. We wish Toni and chef Lee all the best in their new venture.

The John O'Gaunt Inn is situated in the picturesque hamlet of Horsebridge, between Romsey and Stockbridge just off the Test Way. Ideal for a break for visitors to the Test Valley.

8/2/12 - Appeal for Photographs

As many of you will know, there has been a regular photographic display at the Broughton Doctors Surgery for over 50 years, most of which have come from the Dr. Parr collection.

It is our aim to broaden and include as many of the activities of Broughton and the surrounding villages, encompassing the Stockbridge Practice area, as possible.

To ring the changes we require new material and this is where you can help. Do you have any photographs of past village or area events, such as Maypole dancing, Drama and Pantomime, Flower Shows, Tug-of-war, Pumpkin Club etc. and would be prepared to loan them to us for copying for display and archiving?

Great care will be taken of them and will be returned promptly once copied. If you can help, please contact me. Many thanks in anticipation of your help.

29/12/11 - Olivier returns to Stockbridge

December saw the return of a regular visitor to Stockbridge - Olivier. Selling possibly the finest selection of onions available on the north side of the High Street in the traditional French manner.

Oliver has promised to return about the same time next year if not before.

We also hope to see him at the French market!

Many thanks to Sally Milligan for capturing the photo.

3/12/11 - Recent Attempted Burglaries or Theft In Stockbridge

There have been a number of recent attempted burglaries or theft in Stockbridge concentrated on a limited number of properties in the centre of the High Street.

Access has been gained from the overgrown garden behind Roxtons to a number of properties in the early hours of the morning usually between midnight and 2am. Incidents have occurred on a Sunday and Tuesday night.

Fortunately to date on all occassions those attempting to access have been spotted or disturbed.

A bottle of bleach spray was left on one occassion.

Incidents have occurred when neighbours cars have been away.

Please be extra vigilent and report any suspicious activity to the police.
